Mary-Jane Hawkins was a feisty ten year old in the first European family to cross the Blue Mountains in 1822.

At the age of 18 Mary-Jane married the imperious Lieutenant Evernden, and they built Littlebourne together. Her role was to provide social gaiety, showcase incredible beauty and create myths of unshakeable power.
