Originally built nearly two centuries ago as one of the finest houses in inland Australia, the pioneering child bride Mary Jane Hawkins ensured Littlebourne was constantly full of laughter, roses and joy.

Since then generations of civic leaders have added and extended Littlebourne’s generous entertaining spaces and impressive living quarters for families and friends to share.

A complete refurbishment now opens Littlebourne Guest House for couple escapes, luxury boutique hotel style rooms or to book the entire house for incredible group and retreat options for up to 12 guests.

Littlebourne was built for joy and for frolicking in 1830, and it is now one of the oldest stays in NSW.

The luscious rambling home has been curated to provide modern lifestyle luxury for discerning individual travellers or to enthrall small groups.

Nearly 100 varieties of roses and lovely heritage shrubs invite you to explore three acres of gardens. And if your horizons are slightly wider, there are plenty of adventures on our doorstop. For example:

  • Pop into Bathurst for an historic walking tour, art gallery meander or museum crawl chronicling life and earth from dinosaurs to prime ministers.

  • Take the southern road to experience gin and whisky making, explore the extraordinary 150 acres of Mayfield Garden or spend the day hunting delicious truffles and return via historic Rockley with its renowned Pub and Rodeo.

  • Take the eastern road to visit Portland and art galleries showcasing local greats and upcoming talents, before walking one of the famous seven valleys.

  • Take the northern road to visit gold mining villages of Sofala and Hill End before tasting the food and wine of our neighbouring Mudgee region.

  • Take the western road for villages of Carcoar and Millthorpe leading to Orange vineyards or the caves of Abercrombie.
