CONVICT COOKHOUSE

QUEEN APARTMENT OLD CONVICT KITCHEN

Convicts built Littlebourne in 1830 and then cooked and cleaned in the separate kitchen wing around the rear courtyard. It is likely that female servants slept in a small room in the roof of the main house. Male convicts and servants were housed on the other side of the courtyard or in one of 26 outbuildings, including stables, coach house and dairy.
