Chifley suite
king suite in the 1880 gold rush wing
Ben Chifley was the Bathurst train driver who became Prime Minister from 1945 to 1949.
Standing in the Littlebourne garden in the 1920s, guests would hear Chifley driving his famous 5112 locomotive from west of Dubbo to Sydney. In later years Chifley drove Australia’s recovery from the Great Depression and then led the nation at the conclusion of World War II.
